ELITE PERFORMANCE CAMPS

Headed up by former England international player Matt Taylor. A challenging camp where players will experience high intensity training  load  and match play, helping the player to succeed at the highest level.  

 

The Camp will be delivered at Trent College in Derbyshire.

The camp focuses on the development of advanced technical skills, tactical considerations, physical capability and mental strength. It provides an opportunity for players to develop and advance their game in a demanding, yet enjoyable environment, which ultimately see's players working outside of their comfort zone.  

A focus on strength & conditioning and injury prevention compliments the indoor and outdoor sessions, highlighting the importance of fitness and recovery for elite hockey players.

Please note that you need a minimum of 5 years playing experience or involvement at England Pathway Regional Performance centre to book this course.


Details:
  • Speed Testing; players will be put through their paces through a variety of speed tests
  • Video Analysis; the touch screen tv will be used throughout allowing players to gain a better understanding of tactical considerations
  • Experience high-pressure gameplay scenarios
  • 11v11 Match Play; players will be divided into squads that will compete against each other throughout the 4 days

Head Coach: Matt Taylor

One of the most coveted coaches in the UK. Matt took Cannock Ladies team, which includes no other than England and GB Captain Hollie Webb, through 6 league promotions into the National Premier League between 2002-2009. Matt then went on to win 2 league titles with Beeston ladies before moving across to the men (Beeston HC) where he won 3 Premier League Championships, the only team at that time to win the league and play-offs in the same year. The club also reached KO8 of the EHL in 2013, narrowly losing to Bloemendaal HC the competitions eventual winners that season. In addition to his club success, Matt has also won BUCs Gold with the University of Nottingham 2015.

He is an ex-England Senior International who is regarded as one of the top domestic hockey coaches, having helped produce over 30 junior internationals and 42 Senior Internationals who have worked under Matt in the last 10 years, of which included 14 players at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

As well as running his own successful coaching company - MT13, Matt is the Director of Hockey at the University of Nottingham. His company has been running successful camps and courses for over 12 years and he has an ever-growing reputation for delivering innovative coaching to Clubs and Schools including Repton, Ratcliffe, Nottingham High School, Nottingham Girls High School, Oakham, Rugby and Bloxham School.

Most recently Matt has headed up a new initiative to work alongside a number of US Colleges to facilitate the placement of elite players into the collegiate hockey system.
